At Lancaster Gift Box, this bar holds a special place. Last holiday season, a gentleman came into our shop and bought every single one we had in stock. When we asked why, he told us his grandfather had called him and all of his cousins "Little Schnickelfritz" his entire life. He wanted one for each of them. That story is exactly why we do what we do.

Shane Confectionery is America's oldest continuously operating confectionery. They are been making and selling sweets at 110 Market Street in Old City Philadelphia since 1863. What sets Shane apart from virtually every other chocolate shop in the country is their bean-to-bar process. Every week, their chocolate maker selects a crop of responsibly sourced cacao beans from Uncommon Cacao, sorts them by hand, roasts, grinds, and tempers them into the chocolate that coats every confection in the shop. No commodity chocolate, no shortcuts. Each bar is embossed with the facade of their historic Old City storefront, a building that has been making confections for over 160 years. We are deeply proud to carry Shane at Lancaster Gift Box, and feel lucky to bring a piece of Philadelphia's most storied confectionery to our corner of Pennsylvania.
