Meet Diana & Gabriel
Diana’s roots run deep in Lancaster County soil; Gabriel’s story begins on the avenues of New York City. Their paths crossed on Memorial Day weekend 2019 at the Phoenicia Flea in upstate New York—Diana selling her low-sugar fruit spreads, Gabriel pouring kombucha from the neighboring tent. A quick hello turned into an all-day conversation, and—fittingly—food brought them together.
Fast-forward to March 2020. When the world paused, they packed a weekend bag and headed to Lancaster to stay with Diana’s mom, Janet. Weeks stretched into months, and what started as a temporary stop became home. That summer they launched Lancaster Local Provisions: a fresh-grocery delivery service built to connect neighbors with nutrient-rich foods from nearby farms and small producers.
The concept resonated, and the business grew—evolving into Lancaster Gift Box, a company dedicated to making local generosity easy and memorable. The format changed from groceries to gift boxes, but the mission stayed the same: champion Pennsylvania-made goods, strengthen the regional food system, and give individuals and organizations a simple way to invest in their community.
Today, Diana (affectionately called The Gift Box Lady) and Gabriel curate every box with the same care that sparked their first conversation—proving that good food, shared intentionally, can bring people together and lift up a region.
