Salty Pretzel Bar

Two Pennsylvania makers, one exceptional bar. Shane's Salty Pretzel Bar is a 55% dark-milk chocolate crafted from ethically sourced cacao beans. The beans are roasted and ground in their Old City Philadelphia kitchen. The bar is studded with pieces of hand-twisted hard pretzels from Shuey's Pretzel of Lebanon, PA.  Lastly, it is finished with a sprinkle of pretzel salt. The result is a bar that is darker than your average milk chocolate but still balanced and smooth. It features a satisfying salty crunch that hits beautifully against the rich cocoa. Shane Confectionery is America's oldest continuously operating confectionery. They are been making and selling sweets at 110 Market Street in Old City Philadelphia since 1863. What sets Shane apart from virtually every other chocolate shop in the country is their bean-to-bar process. Every week, their chocolate maker selects a crop of responsibly sourced cacao beans from Uncommon Cacao, sorts them by hand, roasts, grinds, and tempers them into the chocolate that coats every confection in the shop. No commodity chocolate, no shortcuts. Each bar is embossed with the facade of their historic Old City storefront, a building that has been making confections for over 160 years. We are deeply proud to carry Shane at Lancaster Gift Box, and feel lucky to bring a piece of Philadelphia's most storied confectionery to our corner of Pennsylvania.
