Wilbur Chocolate has been making their famous Buds since 1894, more than a decade before the Hershey Kiss ever existed. Rumor has it that Milton Hershey modeled his Kiss after the Wilbur Bud on purpose, hoping customers would think they were getting the tried and true original. Whether that is true or not, the Bud came first, and anyone who has tasted both knows which one wins.
