Hammond's Pretzel Bakery is the oldest continuously family-operated handmade pretzel bakery in America, and they have been doing it right here in Lancaster, Pennsylvania since the Great Depression. Founded in 1931 when William Lichty and his grandfather William Hammond turned their garage into a bakery using a family recipe from the 1800s, Hammond's has passed through four generations of the same family without ever compromising on craft. Every pretzel is still hand-rolled the old-fashioned way – because some traditions are worth protecting.
